HEIDENHAIN CORP VRZ 742-C

HEIDENHAIN position measuring/display unit for machine tools and industrial equipment.

This unit was removed from a functional system and was operational when the system was taken out of service. It is being sold as a used industrial surplus component.

Compatibility

The HEIDENHAIN VRZ 742-C is designed to work with compatible HEIDENHAIN position measuring systems and rotary encoders.

According to the manufacturer's operating documentation, the VRZ 742-C can be configured for linear encoders with grating/scale periods of:

• 4 µm
• 10 µm
• 20 µm
• 40 µm
• 100 µm
• 200 µm

It supports systems with single or distance-coded reference marks and can also be used with HEIDENHAIN rotary encoders without an integrated pulse-shaping stage. The display electronics are configured through parameters to match the connected measuring system. 

Applications

Suitable for replacement or repair of older industrial machinery and machine-tool position display systems where a compatible HEIDENHAIN VRZ 742-C is required.

This may be useful as a direct replacement, spare, repair unit, or restoration component for equipment originally fitted with a VRZ 742-C.

Important Compatibility Note

Please verify your existing unit's model number, connector configuration, encoder type, and electrical requirements before purchasing. Compatibility depends on the measuring system/encoder being used and its configuration.

This is an older industrial electronic component, so please do not purchase based solely on appearance. Compare the identification label and connections with your existing equipment.

Power

The VRZ 742-C documentation specifies selectable mains-voltage ranges including approximately 100–110 V, 120–130 V, and 220–240 V, with the appropriate fuse required for the selected range. Please verify the voltage selector and fuse configuration on the actual unit before connecting power.
